Two suspects are in custody after an apparent home invasion in the Pilgrim Downs area of Lake Creek on Wednesday night.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious incident late last night around 10:30 p.m. When Deputies arrived on scene, a possible home invasion was apparent and investigators were alerted. That area was immediately cordoned off and an alert was sent out to the residents in the Lake Creek area to shelter in place.
While checking the home for suspects, the body of a deceased individual was found. The Eagle County Coroner is working collaboratively with the Sheriff’s office to positively identify the victim and the cause of death.
Two suspects have been taken into custody; a male and a female. The male suspect has been identified as Jacob Taylor White, age 23 from Denver. The second suspect, a female is believed to be Leigha Page Ackerson, age 24, from Denver,
Eagle County Sheriff James Van Beek stated “We want to assure our community that though this is a traumatic event, the suspects are in custody and are no longer a threat. I am very proud and appreciative of our community and their patience during this time as well as the professionalism of the Eagle County Deputies and all our partners including the Mesa and Summit County Sheriff’s Offices and the Colorado Bureau of investigations.”
This case is still active and under investigation and additional details will be released pending notification of family members.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
